We refer to your query letter dated 14 June 2002 pertaining to the above mentioned article appearing on “theedgedaily.com” on Friday, 14 June 2002.

Upon due consultation and clarification from our Chairman Y.B. Haji Wan Abd. Muttalib @ Wan Musa Embong, we wish to clarify that the above article has been taken out of context.

At the press conference after the Company’s Annual General Meeting on 14 June 2002, the Edge Daily reporter posed a hypothetical question to the Chairman whether the State of Terengganu would buy the shares that Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Saleh Sulong was reportedly said to be keen on selling his 16.72% stake in EPIC. Our Chairman responded that the State may study the matter and consider it, if so offered.

We refer to the above news article appearing in website of The Edge Daily, on
Friday, 14 June 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is reproduced as follows:-

Perbadanan Memajukan Iktisad Negeri Terengganu (PMINT) - may look into buying
DRB-Hicom Bhd chairman Tan Sri Mohd Saleh Sulong's 16.72 per cent stake in the
former".
